Art

We got some new art for our wall. Spotted these bike paintings when Mom and I were at Ross then again when Donny and I went again. Decided to pick them up after coming home and see a perfect spot for them.

Fabric: Ribbon Pacifier Holder

I think this will be the easiest project and hopefully turns out as cute as I am imagining. I think there is a green and brown theme going on here.

Fabric: Diaper Holder

So for the Diaper Holder you need three different fabrics. One for the main part, a top, and an accent. So here is what I have chosen. I think this will be the hardest project of all.

Fabric: Nursing Cover

Since the fabric was on sale at Hobby lobby I decided to make two nursing covers. These are the fabrics that I choose for them. There were so many choices and I could have bought twenty different kinds. But I contained myself and only picked two. I thought that two would be good. One could be used while one is being washed. Or one left in the car and and one in the diaper bag. Or something like that. Hope they look good when they are done.

Swim

I just love these kids so much. I am very sad that I have moved away and no longer be babysitting them. But I can always remember the fun times that we have through pictures. I am so glad that I have taken so many pictures while I was babysitting. Not only for me to look back on but to also share with the families. This set of pictures is from one of the last days I babysat before moving here. We went swimming in the pool and it was Ash's first time getting into the pool. She loved it so much. If only it wouldn't have been 100+ degrees out we could have stayed in longer.

Me and Ash walking out to the pool. The cutest little swim suit.

Brex and Carter getting in the pool. Guess they are trying to decide if its to cold or not.

I think she is trying to decide if she likes it or not.

And I think she does!

Slip-n-Slide! So fun!

Found!

Totally found some cute fabric for some things. Narrowed it down to the nursing cover, diaper holder, and ribbon pacifier holder. Hopefully I can actually make them. Kinda scary. Pictures of the fabric to come. Guess I better go get something done. All I done today was shopped. Should probably vacuum and clean up a little.

Searching

So I have been on the search for some DIY projects that I could do while I am home. I have also been trying to think of some gifts that we could get baby Zavrick (really Zach and Krissy lol) that would be unique and special. I search Godparent gifts and they are all super lame. And ugly. Last night I searched up a whole bunch of things and I think I am going to attempt to make some of these items. First I have to talk to my mom possibly nannie to see if they would be willing to help me sew somethings. (Mom if you are reading this I haven't decided what to make yet so that's why I haven't asked yet.) So that means whatever I am going to make would have to be done next weekend when I am back in Junction. Here's some ideas that I found during my search yesterday. Ribbon Pacifier Clips, Hooded Towel, Burp Cloth, Nursing Cover, Fancey Travel Wipes Case, and Baby Sling. All of these items can just be purchased but many of them are expensive. And I am not just talking a little bit either. All of these things seem super useful and when you make them its that much more special. I really like the hooded towels so cute and fun. You could even have your children towels match the adult ones. So today I think I am going to venture out to Michaels, which is right across the street, and to Hobby Lobby to what I can find.

Time to Tell

So I know you have been waiting to hear the big news. And here it goes. So this morning I went and interviewed with a family for a nanny job and I totally got it. For the first time ever I will be watching only one child and for the first time in a while I will watching a girl. The job is Monday-Wednesday so I can sub on Thursday and Friday, which is the ultimate. If this news wasn't exciting enough Donny went to LASP (the research lab that Donny will be working) just to tour and meet some people. While he was there he got a raise (before he even started) and then he found out that they will be paying his tuition. Today has been a super sweet awesome day. So excited to start my nanny job.

News

So I totally have some good news, but I can't share it yet. I am waiting to tell some people in person and don't want them to read it here first. And no I am not pregnant. Sorry if I got you all excited. So stay tuned for the news!

Productive Day

And if you can't hear my sarcasm try really hard. I did a whole lot of nothing today. What last weeks episode of Pretty Little Liars, searched on the internet a lot, took a nap to get rid of a headache, and watch the movie Precious. Then sat around for more time while Donny tried to fix his phone. He finally gave up so that we could take a quick trip to Costco. Sat around some more watching TV while Donny continued to try to get his phone working. Finally he got it working and we went for a swim! Tomorrow I am so getting out and going somewhere.
I talked to the lady at the Nanny agency that I signed up for and I think I found a job that might actually work! Its a Monday-Wednesday job from 12-4. Its for a pre-school aged girl! By going through the agency you also have the opportunity to pick up a job or temp job in the morning on those days along with temp jobs when I am not subbing or when school is out. So tomorrow I am going to go get yet another copy of my driving record along with a copy of my CPR card and hopefully meet with the nanny lady so that she can set up an interview with the family. If this actually works I would be super excited. I am also supposed to meet with a mom who has 4 month old twins about a possible job, but when I was talking on the phone she didn't seem to understand that I didn't want a m-f job and still wanted to meet with me. I am still debating on weather or not to cancel. I guess we will see how my talk/meeting with the nanny lady goes and decide from there. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a way more exciting day and actually go somewhere fun and do something a bit more productive. Maybe I will look into picking a brown paint color for our kitchen bar wall? But who knows it could be another day just like today. Oh I really need something to do during the day.

7 miles

Went on another bike ride today. We have now officially doubled the number of bikes rides from last year. Yep. We went on one bike ride last year. A really long one actually from orchard mesa middle to the redlands and back. But we live in Boulder for four days and Josh has us out on our bikes like crazy Boulder people. I did buy some bike shorts. And yes they helped a ton. Those things are amazing. All I have to say is if we keep bike riding I better get skinny. Guess it wasn't to bad just need to get used to it and apparently I will be.

Twice

Well its the second time I interviewed for a nanny job and didn't get it. And today I got a call from a mom letting me know that they had chosen someone else but would love to keep my name down for occasional needs or evenings. Kinda wonder if I was a second choice? Well guess that just means that there is something better out there for me. Or perhaps a long-term sub job? Who knows. Guess I keep looking for a Nanny job. Guess there's lots of jobs out there it's just finding the right one. People just need to talk to Heather.

Monday

This has been quiet the boring day. Haven't done much of anything. Donny is working away and I am here doing nothing. Really hoping that I get a nanny job soon or I am going to be one bored person until school starts. I think I need to learn a new hobby. I need something that allows me to meet some people. Well hopefully once Donny is done working we will actually do something.

Anniversary

Even though is was a week ago I though I would write what we did. I finished our third year book just in time. Good thing I took it with me babysitting and worked on it during lunch. After Donny got home from work we went out to eat at the Ale House. Had a yummy dinner and then went downtown and grab us some dessert. Gelato of course. Walked around for a bit. I got a super cute skirt and gave Donny some dark chocolate and the third year book. We also got some Ale House glasses. What a fun anniversary. We are still thinking about taking a mini anniversary vacation, but no plans have yet be finalized.

15 miles

So yesterday (Saturday) Josh took us on a bike ride. A short one. And we ended up going 15 miles. I can't believe I even rode my bike that long and I totally need to invest in some bike shorts. The ride wasn't as bad as one might think. The whole was is relatively flat and all paved sidewalks. This is one of many bike trails in town. On our bike ride I saw many signs that told you how far away something in town was and which way to go. It's like a secret passage through town. The only problem is that you have to go on your bike. When we were going through the one part of the ride there were so many people outside and apparently there is a small section of the river that runs through town that people tube on. The water looked like it was less than a foot deep in most place and quiet rocky. So I don't know how tubing worked but it did look fun and I love the water. Donny forgot the camera but I am sure we will be going again sometime. After I get bike shorts. Never knew how necessary those things could be.

Green Wall

I decided that I wanted to add some color to our Boulder home and so on Friday I painted a wall green. This is the wall that is in our living room and our dinning room along with the small wall that is part of the dining room. Donny and Josh like it so much they think that we should paint another wall. They think the we should paint a living room wall brown or espresso. I actually think it might look good. Well here are some pictures of our lovely green wall and the painting process. Donny and Josh even helped. You can also see our bookshelves which are full of movies...99% of them are Josh's. And my new table cloth so that the table doesn't get scratched.

Getting Ready

I am getting ready to go to a Nanny interview. The family lives in Lafayette which is about 10miles away and they have two kids a 5 month old and a 2 year old. And they are wanting a nanny two days a week so that leaves me plenty of days to sub. I am thinking that they are quiet interested in me because today they requested a background check through the website which I found them along with a phone call with one of my references. Hopefully all goes well and everything works out the way its supposed to. Maybe two days a week I will not be board from sitting around all day...until school starts. Here's to a great interview! And to getting the perfect nanny job!

Leaving Day

So I am sad to say that today is leaving day. Although we will be back on August 6th for another wedding shoot. Had a fun day hanging out with Jackie today. We went and looked for some classroom stuff and she waited all day to get a call about her classroom being ready. They finally called and unfortunately it was to late for me to be able to go out there since I had to get stuff ready around here. I am really going to miss just hanging out. Hopefully when we come back I can go out there and see it along with help because I am sure it won't be done! Kinda strange that we are leaving later tonight to go to our own home...moving all of our stuff wasn't quiet that sad because I knew we were coming back for a while. And time has gone by fast here. I am going to miss being here but hope that Boulder will be great!

Second Wedding

So last Saturday we photographed a wedding and today we are doing it again. We sure did have a lot of fun last weekend, but I am in need of some better shoes to shoot in. The picture below will explain it all. Is there such a shoe that is cute and fancy looking along with being comfortable. And I am telling you they need to pass the stand for hours and hours test. Not only am I a photographer today but I am also a bridesmaid...so I won't be doing any of the ceremony pictures. Hopefully Donny can handle it on his own and I know he can do it! The Bride has confidence in him so I guess that is all that matters. Getting ready and hoping I don't forget anything! I am already tired of standing...this is so not good.

Aren't they super cute! Don't let them fool you...they aren't walking shoes.

Dentist

I thought we better get another Dentist appointment in before leaving to Boulder. Since we don't have any insurance we go to the Marillac clinic here in Junction and well it has been a pretty sweet resource to have. This last time when we went we had student hygienists and our appointment was two hours long. And this was just for a cleaning. Along with a super long cleaning I discovered that I had several in between the teeth cavities (apparently from not flossing). Even Donny had a "on-watch" cavity. So not cool. They girl cleaning my teeth couldn't believe it...she had never seen such good home care as she called it with cavities. The cavities were only spotted with x-rays. So yesterday I had one of three cavities filled. Now we are flossing! Hopefully no more and we keep up the flossing. It sure does take a long time to brush and floss at night. We are going to have to do some research to see if we can find anything like Marillac in Boulder. Not sure if there is because Marillac is unique to Grand Junction.

Oh Yeah!

Townhouse is totally coming together! Wait until you see some pictures of our awesome organizing and mad unpacking skills.
Today I had an awesome meeting with a mom for a Nanny position. I "interviewed" with her this morning and then went and meet the kids this evening. They live in the fruita of Boulder, so that's about 20ish minutes from our townhome. I am really thinking that it would be a great nanny job! We will find out on Thursday! And I can sub with this job! It's pretty sweet here!

Meeting!

I am excited that tomorrow I will be meeting with a mom about a nanny job! This is a job that is for a 8mo. and 4year old both girls two days a week. I have been looking around for nanny job that is a few days a week so that I could also sub. I don't even know how many jobs that I have applied for (but its been a lot) and the ratio of contacts is pretty low. I am really thinking that maybe I will officially have a job before we officially move back here! Although I am already subbing I just want to have a nanny job too! Guess we will see how our meeting goes tomorrow.

New Place

So once we got everything into the u-haul we made our way to Boulder. We drove over on Saturday got here and unloaded everything from the u-haul, the truck, and the jeep. Since we have been here we have been unpacking like crazy. Its been so crazy that we are practically finished. The only a few more things to get done. Its looking pretty sweet here. We have been out shopping for all for our organizing needs! Just a side note the ContainerStore rocks! Can't wait until I am rich and can have lots more from there. Stay tuned for some pictures.

U-Haul Trailer

This morning when the U-haul trailer showed up at our house I was doubtful, but didn't want to let Donny know because I was confident that it would fit before this. Well thanks to Dad's amazing skills we fit way more than ever expected in one 6x12 trailer. We do have stuff in the Jeep and things that are having to go in the back of the truck. After cleaning everything up in the apartment and making a trip to Mom and Dad's. Mom and I headed to Sweethearts to help Nannie get things situated before she comes home. While we were there I scrubbed the carpet spots and moved things around. Then we came back here and had to organize the stuff in the Jeep. And now I am tired. So not looking forward to having to un-load everything after we drive 4ish hours to Boulder. Guess once it is done its going to be great! Hopefully we have great drive to Boulder and we get everything done quickly.

Friday

Today is the day. We are taking everything out of our apartment and moving to a trailer. Wow. This is going to be a fun day. Donny keeps saying I hope everything fits, I just hope it fits. I can't believe how much stuff is actually in our apartment. Pretty amazing actually. Well its time to get started. Moving!

Thursday

Our last day to get things done. We have to have everything packed and ready to be put on the trailer tomorrow morning. So I am busy trying to get our of our last minute items packed and put away. Hopefully we don't have to stay up to long tonight. The next few days are going to be a bit crazy. This is also our last night to be sleeping at our apartment. Bummer. If you ever need an apartment in Grand Junction Crossroads is totally the place to live! I will be talking a break from doing stuff here to go help Mom and Nannie at Sweetheart's. Mom is painting a room there and things have to be ready so that she can come home on Tuesday. This shouldn't take to long and we will be back to our own house. Sure do wish I had some help here....its a lot funner doing this boring stuff with someone else. The computer can't distract you as easy. Guess I better get on it.

July

Happy July! Wow we sure do have a lot going on this month. Right off we are moving, have been in the process for a while but tomorrow we are actually loading everything up. We will be staying in Boulder for about a week then coming back here for about two weeks. We have two weddings this month! We are celebrating our 3rd Anniversary! We are officially moving to Boulder! And there is a possibility that I will be going on vacation with a family that I have babysat for! This month is full of new adventures and hopefully the month is GREAT! June was good and I have been enjoying my summer. I will be super excited when all this packing is done. Heres to a wonderful July.
