Longest Hike Ever....

Well there probably are longer ones but the one we went on was about three hours of walking. This was not continuous walking since we did stop to take pictures, play pooh sticks, look at the waterfall, and saw sheep. Good thing it was not to hot out because the only water we had was a tiny bottled water for each of us. This was a nice and flat walk out on your way to Delta. I think the hike is call the Dominguez Canyon and it walks along the railroad tracks and the river.

Pagosa Springs!

Here are some pictures that we took while in Pagosa. We stayed at The Springs Resort while we were there. This is not your ordinary hot springs experience its like the Hawaii of Glenwood Springs.

Fall Break!

Fall break was a wonderful time of no homework even though I should have done some I think I deserved a break. On Friday Don and Theresa came into town so we did a lot of hanging out with them which is always fun. And on Tuesday we went on the longest hike in the world, but at least it was not too hard and we got some cool pictures from it. Now there are only six more weeks of school until Thanksgiving break! Donny and I also went to Pagosa Springs on Sunday to celebrate our anniversary a bit late. It was so nice there we just relaxed and didn't think about school! The best parts were the one hour massages, hot springs, and a fancy dinner. I will have to post some pictures at a later time. The only bad part is that it is four and half hours away, but totally worth the drive. All in all the Fall Break was wonderful and I can't wait for our next break....Thanksgiving!

I can't believe that it is half way to the end of the semester. Wow this semester sure has gone by quick and there is still a ton of things to get done before its over. Well since we are half way through it is officially time for a vacation. Fall Break is finally going to be here! And to celebrate our anniversary a bit late and to get a break from school Donny and I are going to Pagosa Spring! Hopefully it is fun at we have a sweet home work free couple of days!

Family Pictures!

Went and took some pictures up on the Mesa. I really like how they turned out especially since the weather did not cooperate much and it was raining and not that warm. Hope you think the same. To see the rest of the pictures go to warbritton.smugmug.com

First Lesson

So on Wednesday October 1, 2008 I taught my first lesson in a classroom to kids. Sure I taught other lessons, but it is just not the same. I was asked by my cooperating teacher to teach about cause and effect. I had a worksheet for students to do and added a bit of my own activity. The teacher I am with said that it when well and he thought that the students were engaged, and that they really did learn what I wanted them to. I think that it went okay for the first one but I would not do the same think with these kids again. I do not think that the students have been taught some important protocols that were required to behave the way I imagined. Students were talking when and moved around freely when I thought they should be quiet and sitting in their desk. I don't know why I thought that it would be any different from a lesson taught by the teacher. I am sure that it does not bother him that students get up to get a drink and sharpen pencils when they please, but what I would let my students do. This just goes to show how every teacher is different and that they all think different things as far a class management importances. I think that I do enjoy how the teacher that I am observing is that he doesn't let little things like drinks from the drinking fountain interrupt learning.

October!

Can you believe that it is October? Well it is and that means only three more months of 2008. What does October have in store for me?

In School....I have tons of assignments due, teachers are starting to give out more and more work because they are realizing that the semester is almost half over and they have lots to do. I already taught one lesson and have to teach another. So hopefully it all goes well.

At home....we are going to Pagosa Springs over fall break, which should be wonderful. We are planning on carving pumpkins and enjoying the fall weather. And you can't forget the Don and Theresa are coming to visit!

Photography....We have tons of photography going on this month, which is super exciting. First we are doing some of our own family pictures up on the Mesa. Then taking the Cowen's Family Pictures along with doing KaCee and Wes' wedding at the end of the month. And the most exciting news of all is a photography business name its not official but I think we have got a good one. Wanna know what it is?...."Studio 208" What do you think? I can't wait to see all of the pictures that we are going to have.
I hope that you have a great October and I will hopefully be keeping up on writing about how all these things turn out! I am so excited that it is fall.
